Nominations are now open for the first IMPACT awards for the Liverpool City Region. Find out what the judges will be looking for and then get your nomination in before the 1st March 2019. You can only nominate one person or organisation per award and multiple entries from the same person will be removed. The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Positive Role Model

This award is open to anyone of any age across the Liverpool City Region. It will recognise the excellent commitment that they have made into actively developing an inclusive workforce or community for the benefit of others.

The judges will be looking for:

A commitment and demonstration of embracing and promoting diversity.

The benefits to the community or workforce that adopting a proactive diverse outlook brings.

Evidence of exceptional, inspirational and measurable outcomes.


Rising Star Award (Under 18) - sponsored by Not Just Travel, Making Memories (Kay FInlay)

This award will be presented to a young person (aged under 18) within a business, community or organisation who has demonstrated a strong commitment and track record of promoting diversity and inclusion.

The judges will be looking for:

An outstanding example of a person aged 18 or under who promotes and raises awareness of the benefits of diversity either in the workplace or as a volunteer

Examples of where the individual has made a significant impact in successful promoting diversity and equality

Diversity in Education.png

Diversity in Education - Sponsored by TPM 

This award will recognise best practice and innovation within the Liverpool City Region linked to championing greater diversity and inclusion for students, staff or local communities. Programmes or initiatives can be showcased or examples of diversity and inclusion achieved in teaching or through research work. Applications are sought from Schools, Colleges or Universities or other organisations within the education sector who can demonstrate their core purpose is the transfer of learning or knowledge to others.

The judges will be looking for:

Examples of best practice in diversity and inclusions linked to educational achievement

A clear focus on education attainment and achievement of specific groups or communities

Demonstrable impact and measures of the project or programme


The Community Award

This award will be presented to an individual or a group who have made an outstanding contribution to promote equality, diversity and inclusion within their local community. The project selected will demonstrate impact in the community and be able to provide examples of the positive effects on people’s lives.

The judges will be looking for:

Evidence of the impact that the project has made to promote greater understanding of equality and diversity within their community

Benefits to individuals who have participated in the project

The difference that the project has made to the local community

Unsung Hero.png

The Unsung Hero Award

This award will be presented to an individual or a group who have made an outstanding contribution to promote equality, diversity and inclusion within their local community. The project selected will demonstrate impact in the community and be able to provide examples of the positive effects on people’s lives.

The judges will be looking for:

Evidence of the impact that the project has made to promote greater understanding of equality and diversity within their community

Benefits to individuals who have participated in the project

The difference that the project has made to the local community


Diversity in Sport Award

This award will recognise best practice and outstanding progress by sporting agencies, clubs and societies who have made significant improvement in ensuring greater diversity and inclusion in the delivery of their services to communities or clients, or who can demonstrate progress within their own organisation in diversity and inclusion.

The judges will be looking for:

A commitment to promote and embrace diversity across all areas of their organisation, from grass roots to management.

An understanding of the specific needs and requirements addressed by the organisation or programme

Evidence of positive and lasting impact for specific groups or individuals.


Best in Business.png

Best in Business Award - Sponsored by Red Rooves Ltd.

This award will recognise a company, organisation or charity that has demonstrated outstanding commitment and leadership to harnessing the benefits of a diverse workforce internally and externally. The winner will also understand the business case for diversity in within their industry and be able to demonstrate this in their entry.

The Judges will be looking for:

A commitment to quality, innovation and best practice.

A joined up approach aimed at embedding Diversity & Inclusion in the Organisation.

Evidence of exceptional, inspirational and measurable outcomes.

Personality of the Year Award - Sponsored by WTS Systems

This award recognises the outstanding success of an individual who demonstrates a strong commitment and track record of achievement in ensuring that everyone in our society has the opportunity to fulfil their ambitions, aspirations and potential – all delivered with flair and originality

The judges will be looking for:

An individual who has successfully promoted and encouraged diversity across the LCR

The defining moment in their campaign so far

How they have inspired others and demonstrated leadership, fairness and flair


Lifetime Achievement.png

Lifetime Achievement Award

This award will be presented to an individual who is recognised for their outstanding contribution to the promotion of diversity and inclusion either in their workforce, charity, community or wider society over the whole of their lifetime.

The judges will be looking for:

An individual who has been dedicated for a significant period of their life to promoting equality and diversity for the benefits of all

An understanding of the impact their work

Personal experience or testimonials from individuals or organisations who have directly benefited from this support
